Mascotte rolling papers are originally the brand of the Mignot & De Block BV enterprise. This family business from Eindhoven was established as a cigar and cigarette factory in 1858. Just after the Second World War cigarette paper was in short supply and importation was not permitted. Frank Mignot (1910 2003) found the solution at a bible publishers in Limburg. The fine, thin paper resulted in the first Mascotte cigarette paper. Since then the company, known as BV Micres, is the leader of the Dutch market with this brand. Furthermore, Mascotte sets the pace in filter cigarette-shells, cigarette-shell filling devices and cigarette rolling devices, the so-called Handy apparatuses. Mascotte cigarette paper is available everywhere and has hundreds of thousands of users in Holland.
In 2002, Mascotte merged with Gizeh and continues to still make high quality rolling papers.
